Presenting the Southern DownsBio ConceptsSculpture Symposium. Symposium Director and Sculptor Paul Stumkat, representing Killarney Area Promotions Assn has scheduled this Symposium for July 2008. The event will recruit up to 20 participating artists and a team of 5 guest artists to carve local Warwick Tanamerah sandstone.
Budding artists are invited to attend a three-hour, master sculptor class provided by sculptor tutors, where you can create artworks from the tailings of the larger sculptures and learn about the tools of the trade. Limited space is available, so be quick, Master Classes Application Form.
The 2008 event in conjunction with the popular Warwick Shire Jumpers and Jazz Art and Music Festival is expected to attract over 4000 extra visitors to the region during the 2 week, 3 weekends Sculptures Symposium. A variety of national and local jazz performers take to the streets and heritage hotels during the festival’s official weekend celebrations to jazz it up with Dixieland, Swing and Mainstream melodies of Jazz. The main street will be awash with colour as deciduous trees don bright cheerful hand-knitted jumpers.
